From the Introduction:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
I have developed this notebook for
students (young and grown-up ones) to record any mistakes made in recitation or
memorisation of the Noble Qur’aan. I have found over the years that if students
write down their mistakes they are more likely to remember them and correct
them بإذن الله. I also deduced that
if all the mistakes are written in one place it is easier for quick reference.
(Unlike searching for different notebooks from various courses and levels or
scraps of paper that become buried and lost when you really need them most!). Mistakes
can be annoyingly hard to correct especially if the Soorah was learned in early
youth and a long time ago. The mistakes can become automatic. However, by
making du’aa and then concentrating on the mistakes with strong determination
they can be corrected إن شاء الله.
The best method of ensuring correct
recitation is to find a skilled Qur’aan teacher. A teacher or a friend can make
notes of the mistakes for you. If you cannot find a teacher then record
yourself reciting, then listen and follow the mushaf to hear your mistakes.
Then you can make a note of them for future reference and focus on them next
time you recite until they are completely corrected. The final column in the
chart is to tick the corrections once they are mastered. ü
Mistakes can be major or minor. Try and
focus on the major mistakes. (See my blog for examples and for further details:
www.quraanteacherresources.blogspot.com).
Here are a few types of mistakes that
frequently occur (all below are major apart from the tajweed rule which can be
major or minor depending):

If additional pages are needed for
certain Suwar you can photocopy the page and attach it with the Soorah.
Allaah help us to recite His Book
how it was revealed and understand and practice what is contained within it,
aameen!
