Stages of Writing and Printing a Page of the Qur'aan

At the King Fahd Qur'aan Printing Complex it takes one and a half years to prepare a mushaf for printing.
At the Qur'aan Exhibition in Madeenah next to the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم Masjid the guide explained and demonstrated a part of the process of preparing the Qur'aan for printing.
He had an easel with five clear plastic sheets laid on top of each other.
The first sheet was handwritten by a specialised Qur'aan Calligrapher. He only wrote the basic shapes without dots or vowels.
The second sheet added the dots.
The third sheet added the vowels.
The fourth sheet added the stop signs.
The fifth sheet added the aayah numbers.
